Strategic Plan 2025-2027
ACMAD's strategic plan aligns seamlessly with the AU Agenda, AMCOMET, and WMO Strategic Development Plans. The goal is to enhance collaboration, build capacity, and drive innovation in tackling Africa's weather and climate challenges. By engaging a diverse range of stakeholders—including NMHSs, regional centers, public entities, UN agencies, civil society, the private sector, and the media—ACMAD will co-create tailored climate services and information to foster resilient development across the continent.
Special emphasis will be placed on empowering vulnerable populations by delivering climate services that address critical needs such as food, water, energy, health, and environmental security. Partnerships with national and regional entities, universities, and research institutions will facilitate technology transfer, capacity building, and the adoption of advanced tools and methods, including AI-driven solutions.
The strategic plan’s phased implementation will prioritize advocacy, resource mobilization, and the execution of key priorities while fostering regular assessment and user engagement to adapt services to evolving needs. Resource mobilization will leverage contributions from countries, international partners, and climate finance mechanisms, ensuring the sustainability of ACMAD’s mission.
Through dynamic partnerships, innovation, and a user-centered approach, ACMAD is committed to enhancing resilience and adaptive capacity across Africa, contributing to a climate-resilient and prosperous future for its people.
