State of African Climate 2024

Anomalies of annual temperature over Africa from January 1950 to December 2024 Reference 1991 to 2020 climatological period

An analysis of temperature trends on the African continent shows that temperatures in Africa have been rising steadily since 2010. The average for 2024 is even hotter than for 2023. This situation will further exacerbate the impacts of climate change on human and animal health, and on Africa's eco-systems.
